Purpose of the position

 

The Sales Operations Analyst will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the sales forecasting processes, working closely with the sales organization to provide revenue and unit forecasts as part of SMART’s ongoing forecasting cadence.  In addition, you will be responsible for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales organization by creating, enhancing and maintaining reporting and analytics, across SMART’s Unified Commercial Engine (UCE), working closely with SMART’s data and sciences organization.  A person in this role will champion our mission to be a data and systems-driven organization. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, robust technical and data analysis capabilities, experience providing demand plans in a S&OP process and a natural sense of curiosity that drives them to identify trends and promote opportunities. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

       

§  Sales Forecasting and Analysis

 

o   Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the S&OP process.

o   Leverage data from Salesforce.com, PowerBI, Microsoft Dynamics and other tools to create and enhance reporting that enables deep analysis and data-driven decisions.

o   Utilize historical data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate sales forecasts

o   Articulate insights to stakeholders, leveraging excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure desired impact

o   Monitor sales performance metrics and analyze variances to identify areas for improvement.

o   Monitor inventory levels against forecasting accuracy and collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock

o   Work closely with SMART's Data Science and Operations team to ensure UCE reporting is providing relevant and accurate information.  Drive and inform process and system changes to improve data quality.

 

§  Active involvement in Order Management:

§  Cross-Functional Collaboration

§  Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, production, and logistics teams to align sales forecasts with production schedules, inventory levels, and distribution plans.

§  Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve overall performance in sales and order planning functions.

§  Solve critical problems that enable sales representatives to provide timely solutions to their customers while maximizing revenue

§  Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sales and operations planning to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

§  Assist and lead projects as required

§  Other duties as required

 

Education & Work Experience

 

§  Proven experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations and/or Business Analytics experience ideally in a fast-paced environment.

§  BA/BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

§  Experience with a CRM Platform (Saleforce.com), BI Platform (PowerBI), Microsoft Dynamics and planning tools

§  Strong analytical skills (including Microsoft Excel) and experience with reporting and data analysis. Demonstrated data analytics ability to critically look at performance data and draw constructive conclusions

§  Self-starter with high attention to detail who seeks to understand results and drive improvements

§  Excels at multitasking and thrives in a fast-paced environment

§  Technically capable, excellent communicator, and a desire to improve reporting and analytics. 

§  Excellent problem-solving skills with proven follow-through to ensure issues are fully resolved

§  Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and shift workload to meet deadlines

§  Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

§  Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

·     This role can be a hybrid or remote role.  The candidate must work in a time zone that overlaps with the majority of the workday in the UK (GMT)
